Officiating: Teams pay for the game to be officiated. Teams do not pay for any specific amount of officials, yet they pay to have the game officiated, fairly, respectfully, and honestly. Elite has asked scheduled officials to fill in as players, and goaltenders, to assist teams so that forfeits do not happen and to ensure the quality of a good game. Keep in mind that an official who plays gives up his earnings and along with this, the lone official then absorbs double duty/responsibilities. It is the intention of ELITE to have two officials and a timekeeper for each game except for when an official is participating, or other reason presents itself. Our officials are not perfect, but they are required to be as fair as possible, respectful to the players, and to care about his performance.

Steep and costly

Suspensions/Disciplinary actions: This has shown great success and has kept the leagues very clean and friendly. Players will not only serve suspensions, but will pay a re-instatement fee. Also, teams may be held accountable for their team mates actions if applicable. I do NOT want any re-instatement money and want NO Suspensions, however it has shown that when you put a price on discipline, the conduct remains under control.

Fill-Ins : Elite understands that attendance is not always strong due to everyday surprises, illness, work schedules, travel and weather. With this, comes deteriated competition and one sided games. Elite policy is to allow fill in players to teams that need them, PROVIDED, the opposing Captain agree’s and that the team needing fill-ins plays one player short of the players on the other team. Any exceptions MUST be agreed to by the Captain and brought to the head official and timekeeper for notation of such on the gamesheet!

Statistics: stats are not always accurate and many do want to know and see theirs (yes many – those that don’t follow their points or stats mostly are the ones who don’t have many to track) like to have them dead on. Please understand that it only takes a simple and respectful email, phone call, or talk with the timekeeper (to note on game sheet of a fix) to have adjustments made. Instead, players will sometimes negatively make comments and carry on how stats aren’t right when its much less work and classier to just ask for a correction.

SUMMER UPDATE

All Summer payments will need to be by Cash or check (made out to Elite Hockey Leagues) and given to Kerry or an ELITE Staff member. You must get a receipt or do NOT make a payment. Payments are due by the 2nd week of the season.

ALL PLAYERS - You MUST have an updated card to participate. The facility is now enforcing this strictly. No "UPDATED CARD"... you will have to see facility personell to get a pass to play. I know it has been flexable in the past, but it is now on every player to have this. It is your responsibility to hand in AND get back your card before and after each, game. Please do not shoot the messenger as ELITE was given this new strict rule and we will honor/support the Hab policy as it was told to us.

(Bottom line is, if you can remember your stick (which you have to have to be able to play), you can remember your card. It is that simple. Please do not vent any frustration at ELITE staff for enforcing this, it is a facility mandated rule. The Hab personell will gladly answer any questions you may have regarding this. Please get this immediately. Allow time prior to game to be able to get this. Its good for 1 year and be sure your exp date is on the card if you currently have one.
